Dear Mr. Mayor:
Back in the days when you were the Secretary of State I was quite involved in your campaigns. As I had no particular interest in the City of Boston I ceased to be involved in your campaigns.
Now I live in Jefferson County which encompasses the City of Louisville, Kentucky and like the City of Boston we are having the same problem with forced bussing by court order which is as distasteful here as I’m sure it is in Boston.
However, there is a plan under expierment here which may be a little bit more palatable. I have enclosed a brief printed outline of the JET plan. I am sure if you contacted Mayor Harvey Sloane who you know well the whole program might be of interest to you. Its not the true salvation to the problem but its at least an attempt to be doing something that the courts find sufficient to meet their demands.
Yours for a successful solution,
Signed: [Redacted]
